Self-Care During Quarantine

As many people are currently practicing social distancing — or staying home to avoid large crowds and public spaces — to help limit the spread of COVID 19. As places of recreation and relaxation have closed their doors to keep people safe. With the news continuously reporting on the evolving situations outside and scrolling through social media makes it easy to get lost in all the noise that can be overwhelming.

Here are some ideas for self-care during this time of social distancing and uncertainty, that will keep you sane:

Read and Listen

Read the books that you’ve put on your TBR (to be read) list or listen to an audiobook/ podcast. Try to spruce things up every now and then so that you don’t fall into a rut, for example, if you are hooked on to listening to books and podcasts about marketing then listen to at least one or two podcasts on technology, because it is always great to keep your mind indulged.

Re-organise and rearrange your living space

“The energy of the home is something that is important for the happiness of the people living in the house”- Feng Shui, or by merely reorganising your personal space just to organise your mind. Take your time to create a flow that speaks to you so that you are completely at peace at home.

Apartment Friendly Workouts

Your physical wellbeing is as significant as your mental wellbeing, so make sure to keep your workout routine but tweak it to fit into your apartment space. Find workout videos on YouTube and get yourself a fitness app.

Make Art

Put on your creative hats and make art. It is the best way to unwind after a long day of work. If you are looking for motivation check out Bob Ross’ tutorials on Netflix or YouTube, he will surely make you feel relaxed and creative.

Just Do Nothing

Your mind and body require some rest, it is imperative to give yourself a break. Just understand that relaxation is productive too.

Learn Something New

This is the perfect time for you to grow your skill set so that you can move up in your career, you can also look for personal improvement courses that help you with your communication, etc. You could also learn that new language that you’ve always wanted to learn.
